Meltdown....and it isn't fair....

Yeah... Blake had a meltdown tonight. Well, actually SEVERAL of them from the time I got home from work at 4:15 until I sent him to bed at 6:30. *sigh*

He was mad at his dad for asking him to let the dogs out. Meltdown.

He was mad at the dog for knocking over his snowman. Meltdown.

He was mad at me for asking him to scoop the litter box. Meltdown. Goodnight.

Then he was up in his room playing and I told him to go to bed. He comes out of his room and says, "It is NOT fair." I said, "You are right. The way you are treating us is not fair. That's why you are going to bed now." He said, "No. What isn't fair is that everyone is asking me to do a million things and I don't have time to work on my project (he just got a plastic canvas kit in the mail from Auntie Shelley and he is SOOOOO excited about it) and now *I* have to go to bed with no dinner?"

I just said, "Yup."

SLAM!!!

I went upstairs about 15 mins later and he was 1 1/2 blinks from being sound asleep. He mustered enough energy to mumble "love you too" when I gave him a kiss and covered him up and then said, "please leave the door open".

Think he's tired? Yup. Think he'll meltdown again another day? Yup. Did he eat before he was sent to bed? Yup. About 30 mins prior he had peanut butter and jelly on a tortilla (Auntie Shelley sent the peanut butter too -- he and his Daddy are addicted to it!). Think he'll be up at midnight because he's STARVING? Yup. Think I'll get up and feed the child? Yup.

*sigh* Gotta love being the Mommy of such a bundle of boy :)

ah, he was tired, so it's good that he's getting the extra sleep he needs.... it doesn't make you a bad mom.

Heh... he and Ace must have been conspiring. Everything I did yesterday was THE WORST THING EVER.

See my blog post.

And just so you know, according to JD this has been the most boring Advent ever.

Ah, it's good to be the mom.

HAHAHA!!! I just saw your blog when you posted the Santa pic on SHARE. I am laughing so hard!!! Tanner and Blake are definitely the same age!!!! I read your post thinking, "Didn't I just have THAT EXACT same conversation with Tanner." LOL Thanks for the laugh and reminding me that other good kids get tired and on their Mom's nerves!!!!!
