Update

In a nutshell (I hope).

I am mentally exhausted so if none of this makes sense, I apologize.

Mike's dad is making some progress. The suspicion now is that he went into congestive heart failure. He is still on a ventilator and many meds for various things. He is still pretty heavily sedated, although they are attempting to wean him off the sedation so they can wean him off the ventilator.

He did blow kisses to Mom and Mike this morning, and he did smile when the nurse cracked a joke. So those are good things.

I did go to the hospital yesterday afternoon and stayed until about 9:30 last night. Then Mike and I went to the hotel (where Mike, his brother, his aunt, his uncle and his gramma are staying) and went to bed. We got up about 7 this morning and had breakfast and were back at the hospital by 9:30 this morning (the rest of the crew didn't roll in until 1:00 and almost 2:00). I stayed with Mike at the hospital until about 3:30 and then I headed home because Mom had asked me to take over her class at CMU tonight and tomorrow morning.

Tammy (dear, sweet soul that she is) came and stayed with Blake and the critters so that I could go down there.

I got home, scarfed some food, and headed to campus for class. I got home around 9:30 and I'm just beat.

So it's really just a wait and see situation right now. He is definitely going to need a pacemaker, but they have to get him more stabalized before they can do that surgery. He is getting great care.. the nurses have all been fabulous... the doctors are great. It's his family that has me worn out... but more on that another time.
