Disappointment

As is our annual tradition, Mike, Blake and I made reservations to spend New Year's Eve in a hotel. We check in and then spend the rest of the day at the pool (Blake being the fish that he is). Mike goes out and gets dinner and we eat and then head back to the pool. We let Blake stay up to ring in the new year and in the morning we pack up and head to whoever in the family is having our Family Christmas.

This year we didn't think we'd be able to afford a hotel, but then realized we have enough reward points to get a free night. We made our reservation. I had mental notes of what to pack and how to accommodate the food we'd be taking along for family Christmas.

Mike wondered if the hotel had a hot tub. He went to the website to check it out. And discovered that the pool at the hotel is an outdoor pool.

This is a problem in Michigan in winter.

So we cancelled the reservation and cannot make another because the other hotels where we have reward points require too many points.

I'm disappointed and frustrated.

Now I'm trying to think of something fun we can do at home that will be just as fun as the hotel pool.

aw sorry for your disappointment...

How about a pizza/movie/popcorn/camp-out-in-the-livingroom-night?

me I'm not doing anything. Probably same as every other night. Though I might go rent a couple movies if I don't get more movies in the mail tomorrow. but really I try not to even think about holidays.
